The UCSC Faculty & Staff Wellness Program in the Office of Risk Services supports the health and well-being of the campus community by managing UCSC Healthy Campus. UCSC Healthy Campus strives to create a healthy campus environment through integrated programs and initiatives designed to provide a holistic and balanced approach to well-being across multiple dimensions of wellness. UCSC Healthy Campus initiatives include:
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP):
a 1-year lifestyle change program that follows the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Diabetes Prevention Program
The Healthy Beverage Initiative (HBI):
which aims to improve access to tap water as a healthy alternative to sugar-sweetened beverages and provides the opportunity to reduce sugar sweetened beverages on campus.
Partnership with the Radical Resilience Initiative:
a campus-wide effort to promote mental health and well-being through a social justice lens. This initiative is a collaborative effort overseen by a working group of staff, faculty, and students, working in partnership with UCSC Healthy Campus and the Student Health Center.
